Well, it is now less than a month until I will be flying halfway across the world to visit Turkey and participate in the American Pharmacists' Association Academy of Student Pharmacists International Students' Federation Student Exchange Program (APhA-ASP IPSF SEP). The home association of my exchange is Turkish Pharmacists' Association Youth Commission (TPA-YC). In preparation for my trip I have had to do a lot of planning and arranging logistics for the first time as I am traveling by myself. So far I have:
- Bought my plane tickets
- Been vaccinated for Hepatitis A and Typhoid
- Received prophylactic antibiotics
- Read all about the various cities I will be visiting
- Researched background information on the history, culture, and customs
- Reserved hostels for the first half of my stay
- Communicated with my local exchange officer (LEO), Zuhal Murat, and the other students that will be at my site
- Arranged my visa
- Called my banks, phone provider, landlord, etc. boring things that must be done
- Created this blog
