Tentative Schedule
Below is a list of the dates and the locations in Turkey that I will be visiting. During my internship between July 6-25 there may be additional trips added on the weekends at the discretion of my local exchange officer.
July 1-2: Fly out of Pittsburgh International Airport, USA and arrive in Izmir, Turkey
July 2-3: Visit Izmir
July 4: Visit Selcuk and Ephesus
July 5: Visit Pamukkale
July 6-18: Arrive in Ankara for TPA-YC student exchange internship at Hacettepe University
July 18-22: Cyprus tour with TPA-YC at Near East University
July 22-25: Return to Ankara for remainder of internship
July 26-29: Visit Istanbul
July 29: Fly out of Istanbul International Airport and arrive in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA.

Site Placement
My official student exchange program site is Hacettepe University in Ankara, Turkey. I will be practicing in the university affiliated hospital in the central hospital pharmacy. Zuhal Murat is serving as the local exchange officer (LEO) of my trip to Turkey organizing my internship and other programming for me to participate in.
About Hacettepe Universitesi (Hacettepe University):
Hacettepe University is a state university founded in 1967. It consists of 5 different campuses, 14 faculties, 14 institutes, 2 applied schools, 1 conservatory, 6 vocational schools, and 45 research and application centers. Total enrollment is 36,112 students with 3,495 academic personnel. The faculties offered include: communication, dentistry, economics & administrative science, education, engineering, fine arts, health sciences, law, letters, medicine, nursing, pharmacy, science, and sports science. The school of pharmacy is a five-year program.

About Ankara:
Ankara is the capital of Turkey, ranked the second largest city in the country. The population of the various districts of Ankara is estimated to total approximately 5 million people. It was established as the national capital when modern Turkey was formed on October 29, 1923. Located in the region known as Central Anatolia, the city has a continental climate. Ankara is a center of transport as there are direct railroad and bus routes to various cities throughout the country. Additionally, commerce and trade are a major aspect of the business run in Ankara making it important for industry and the economy. As the capital Ankara is home to the republican parliamentary democracy government operations and also contains the educational hub of Turkey containing a multitude of universities. The Museum of Ancient Civilizations can be found in Ankara which is one of the "must sees" when traveling to Turkey as it houses artifacts detailing the numerous civilizations that have ruled Anatolia throughout history.
